GET TO KNOW ME

Helping You Move Forward

“If we don’t know where we are going, it can be helpful to know where we came from.” -Jostein Gaarder

I always like to say that I found my way here through the Goldilocks Method. This is to say that I tried out several different things before I found what truly worked for me. I was a planner who thought I knew exactly what I wanted and plotted my life’s course based on that. Once I got to I believe that people are like popcorn kernels: you can put them all in the pan at the same time, but they don’t all pop at the same time. I believe life is a journey that has no map and all of us are just trying to figure out our own course. I believe in walking that course with my clients at their own pace and helping them to explore where they want to go next as well as where they have been. I describe myself as “chronically curious” and will ask questions to help explore and discover what each person may need to live their most authentic and satisfying life. I take a very direct approach to counseling, meaning you’ll never have to guess about why I’m asking certain questions or what kind of techniques I’m using. I believe that no person is an island and will work to consider the many systems of which each person is a part. I’ll make far too many movie references and will have a bizarre analogy for almost anything and I try to make counseling as comfortable and natural as possible for children and youth. Let’s take this journey together!
